My Mistakes by Eleanor Friedberger.
Stressing. Studying. Stressing some more. Studying some more. The thick stack of unread notes does not thin. I divide up the papers into smaller piles: Three weeks of material. That will be my focus for today. Just three weeks.

I’ll tie your shoes for you
I don’t want you to fall for someone else because your shoes weren’t tied. I’m not only concerned for your safety, but I’m concerned that after that fall, you won’t like me anymore. It’s actually quite saddening knowing that little detail that I might lose you. I’m not going to lose you just yet, so I’ll be the one tying your shoes whenever they’re untied. So don’t panic if I’m suddenly on my knees, I’m here to tie your shoes.
